Board Secretary

Chris Hatfield recently returned to the Board of Directors. Chris has jokingly been refered to as "Our Cookie Lady in Perpetuity" because she always volunteers to purchase and serve the cookies and punch at the Winter Concert. Her contributions to the organization have been much more than that. She has served as an in-home respite volunteer and has worked tirelessly on all of our fundraising activities. We are very pleased to have her back again.

Board Member

Hibbard Williams MD a 29-year resident of Davis, is our newest member of our board. Hibbard came to Davis in 1980 as Dean of the UCDavis medical school, a position he held until 1992, at which time he continued his teaching and research activities as a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine. A native of New York, he was educated at Cornell University with postgraduate internal medicine training at the Massachusetts General Hospital. After spending his early career at UC San Francisco, he returned briefly to Cornell and then accepted the position of Dean of the Medical School at Davis. It was during his tenure as Dean that the geriatrics program at the medical school was initiated, stimulating his interest and commitment to dealing with the health problems of the elderly. After his retirement he became aware of the activities and projects of Citizens Who Care and their commitment to helping the elderly and disabled and he decided this is the type of organization with which he would like to be associated. HIbbard's wife, Sharon, is a volunteer in the In-Home Respite Program at CWC. They have a large combined family of seven children, 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, most of whom live in the area. Hibbard notes "My wife and I are both committed to this wonderful community and we now feel we want to give something back since it has given so much to us".
