Mary Ann Smith joined the CWC Board in April 2005. She was once a volunteer for CWC back in 1991 when CWC started to place volunteers in the convalescent hospitals in Woodland. She was assigned to a post-polio patient who was confined to bed and had no family or friends to visit him. They found a good bond in those two year visits, as he was interested in telling his life story of growing up in Woodland, and she was an avid listener of his memoirs.
Mary Ann is currently employed as a Student Affairs Officer in the Office of the University Registrar at U.C. Davis. She has worked there for over twenty five years, and looks forward to her early retirement so she can do more volunteer work with CWC.
Her personal life is full doing fun things with her husband such as playing golf, traveling, playing with their two dogs, and spending time with family and friends. Her favorite hobbies are reading, painting with acrylics and oils, digital photography, journaling, genealogy and collecting miniatures for her miniature doll house that she has built. Again, she looks forward to having more time during her retirement to indulge in her husband, hobbies and friends.
