JOE ALKIRE has appeared with the Davis Comic Opera Company, as Georg in She Loves Me, Jack Point in Yeomen of the Guard, Robin Oakapple in Ruddigore, Nigel in Something's Afoot and Major General Stanley in The Pirates of Penzance. He has appeared at the Woodland Opera House as Ham in Two by Two, Charles in Blithe Spirit and as T.R. in Tintypes. He also appeared at the Davis Musical Theatre Co. as Harold Hill in Music Man. Other favorite roles include Cervantes in Man of La Mancha and Georges in La Cage Aux Folles.

BOB BOWEN, as the Promotions Manager for the City of Davis, facilitates a variety of theatre, cultural and 'visitor' events in and around Davis. In addition to creating the Davis Children's Nutcracker, Bob has been involved in theatre productions with the Davis Comic Opera Company, the Woodland Opera House, Davis Players and the Best of Broadway. He has played leading roles in everything from Naughty Marietta to Dames at Sea, and choreographed the DCOC production of Something's Afoot. The father of four children, Bob has also written, directed, and choreographed works for children's theatre. He is most appreciative of his lovely wife Kate's ongoing patience, love and support.

GWYNETH BRUCH has played an active role in theatre throughout the Sacramento area, including productions at the Sacramento Theatre Company, the Woodland Opera House, the Davis Comic Opera Company, and the Davis Musical Theatre Company. She is the winner of several Elly Awards and Chesley Awards for her performances. She also appeared in a new play in the Black Swan Theatre in Ashland, Oregon. Gwyn is the head of the drama department at Davis Senior High School, where she also teaches English to at-risk sophomores and choreographs the school's Jazz Choir. She gives special thanks to her husband Russ and son Andrew for their constant love and support.

RICHARD BRUNELLE received his MA from San Francisco State University and did further work at the Frankfurt Conservatory of Music. In 1993 he retired after 40 years of teaching, directing, and performing music - the last 27 years as music teacher at Davis Senior High School. His tenure there was marked by the many fine choirs and orchestras under his direction. In 1990 Dick received the California Outstanding Music Educator of the Year Award. In 1992 he was named California State Teacher of the Year. He is a charter member of the Davis Comic Opera Company and has been both a performer and musical director. After 29 years as minister of music for the Davis Community Church, he retired in 1996. Since retiring he has been volunteering in the Citizens Who Care Saturday Time Off for Caregivers Program at the Davis Senior Center and at the Davis Community Church.

MARTHA DICKMAN'S degree in voice from the University of Montana led her to a weekly radio show, recitals, and singing with two dance bands. In 1944 she married Marine Corps officer James Gasser and for the next twenty-five years lived in six different U.S. states, Guam, and Thailand. Wherever they were, Martha continued performing and directing choirs. When her husband died suddenly in 1970, she came to Davis and has been involved in music here as a vocal director, producer and performer with the Davis Comic Opera Co. and other groups. For many years, she taught private voice lessons. Her second husband, Avrom Dickman, died in 1981. Her longtime companion, Richard Cramer died in 2000. Now semi-retired, she enjoys going to concerts, traveling, and visiting her children and grandchildren.

LENORE HEINSON has pursued her love of music and theatre at both the community and professional levels, with nearly 40 years of study and experience. A private voice and piano instructor, Lenore has stage-directed and vocal-directed award-winning productions for the Davis Musical Theatre and the Woodland Opera House. In addition to performing many roles spanning the musical theatre, opera, operetta and liturgical repertoire. Lenore teaches at the UCD Music Department, at Douglass Junior High School and at Woodland High School as a vocal coach and choral director. Lenore thanks her students who constantly inspire her and her family for their constant support.

STEPHEN PEITHMAN is the host of Musical Stages, broadcast Saturdays at 4:00 pm on KXPR-FM (90.9). He has been active in musical theatre since the eighth grade, including work for many theatres in the Davis area. A charter member of the Davis Comic Opera Co., he has both performed and directed for that company over the past 25 years. He directed Two by Two, the Richard Rodgers musical about Noah and the Ark, for the Woodland Opera House last year. The author of seven books, he has been an editor for Sunset and San Francisco magazines, and is consulting editor of Stage Directions, a national theatre magazine, which he co-founded in 1988. In his "real life" he is director of public information for American River College in Sacramento.

LENORE SEBASTIEN has tackled more than 30 roles in musicals and plays with Davis Comic Opera Company, the Woodland Opera House, Sacramento City Actors Theatre, Chatauqua Playhouse, Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento, Sacramento Music Circus, Davis Musical Theatre Company, and Winters Community Theatre. She has been nominated for four Elly Awards (winning two) and received a Chesley Award at the Woodland Opera House. Lenore is also an accomplished director, having directed the critically acclaimed (and also Elly-nominated) Woodland Opera House production of Inherit the Wind. Professionally, Lenore is a legal secretary for the Criminal Law Division of the State Attorney General's Office.

PETER SHACK is a native New Yorker who grew up with healthy doses of music at Carnegie Hall and shows on Broadway. He graduated from Columbia with a major in history and a minor in music, but seemed to spend most of his time rehearsing for something or other. He went on to Georgetown Law School and the Peace Corps, but the pattern continued. And even still, though a Supervising Deputy Attorney General by day, evenings are often filled with music. Peter has performed in many Davis Comic Opera productions. His favorites have been The Mikado (Koko), A Little Night Music (Fredrik) and Die Fledermaus (Eisenstein). A 20 year resident of Davis, his favorite time of all is with his wife and son.

ROY SPICER is a graduate of Davis Senior High School where he was involved in the Chamber Orchestra, Jazz Choir and the Madrigal Choir, all under the direction of Dick Brunelle. He was educated at California State University, Northridge in Organ Performance and Choral Conducting. Roy has served as musical director for numerous Southern California churches and theatre companies. Locally, he served as Musical Director for Davis Comic Opera Company's revue Songs in the Key of DCOC and the company's 25th Anniversary production of A Streetcar Named Mikado for which he received an Elly Nomination. On stage, Roy has appeared as Arpad Lazlo in She Loves Me and as The Caliph in Kismet . He sang the title role in Candide benefiting Temple B'nai Israel's rebuilding campaign. Currently, Roy is Director of Music and Liturgy for Holy Rosary Church in Woodland and director of the Holy Rosary Concert Series.
