You have reached a historical archive within the Davis Virtual Market. In recognition of the significant support of Tim and Marilyn Brophy to community networking in Davis California, this was the Davis Virtual Market homepage on the Davis Community Network and the Woodland AFES server from 5 PM on Wednesday May 23 to 8AM Friday morning, May 25. Visitors looking for the Davis Virtual Market community directory page were redirected to visit our Sacramento mirror site at: http://www.virtual-markets.com/dvm/ We were trying to reach as many of Tim's friends as possible to let them know of the memorial services listed below on Thursday, May 24, 2001. Tim Brophy supported Community Networking and his Lamppost Pizza was the first pizza place on the web in Davis California. He lent support in so many ways that it would take hours to chronical. One can visit the [Lamppost Pizza Davis] web site as a starting point. Some of the many web projects dear and near to his, Marilyn's and Jim Mathew's hearts that they supported are: [Pets, Vets, You and Dr Sue], [The Valley Oak School Time Line of the Revolutinary War], [Pizza Day on the Web], [AYSO], [Lamppost Pizza franchise corporation] and [Davis Community Network]. More photos of Tim Brophy can be found at the [Toad Hop web site 1] and [2].

The church service was delayed by big rig accident that shut down all northbound traffic north of Sacramento. Woodland is north of Sacramento. Even though many people did not make it to the church service, the church was filled to capacity over 350 friends, family and members of the public. As for words that were spoken at the service, I have found that it is sometimes hard to find words to describe the person, his life and his beliefs. From the service I learned that I knew the man, Tim Brophy. The words were all so true and told of a man of deep humanity, kindness, service, convictions and faith. I was fortunate to have spend many hours conversing with him over the years to learn all I did from him. Above all, I learned how to he lived each day, even when possible death was around the corner. He was wonderful human being and he will be missed by me and by many others.

If you have contributions or words you wish to contribute and to be posted here, please feel free to contact yamagata@virtual-markets.net
