FARM and ENVIRONMENT
Agriculture and the Environment:
- Jerry returned to his roots as a farmer who grows field crops, wheat, corn, alfalfa, timothy, sudan, etc., on an 80 acre farm in Southern Yolo County. The farm was contracted in the Williamson Act ensuring that it remains in agriculture.
- A wildlife and farmland conservation program for the farm, including a tailwater pond for water conservation, windbreaks, and hedgerows with native grasses had been constructed. Part of the cost of construction of the project was funded by the Natural Resources Conservation Service of the U. S. Department of Agriculture. The project significantly enhanced soil conservation, water conservation and provide wildlife habitat.
